Welcome to the Maintenance, Operations & Construction Department!
The mission of the Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department is to support the educational process by maintaining a safe and healthy learning and teaching environment for all students, staff and users of the Chino Valley Unified School District's schools and facilities.
Under the direction of Michael Chapko, Director, the Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department repairs and maintains the School District's 36 sites. There are 18 elementary schools, 3 fundamental schools, 5 junior high schools, 4 comprehensive high schools, 1 continuation high school, 1 Professional Development/Media Center, and the District Offices/Administrative Service Center, which also houses Adult School and ESL Classes. The combined size of all of the district's permanent and portable buildings is approximately 3 million square feet.
The department is responsible for routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and minor construction-type projects throughout the district, as well as maintaining approximately 300+ acres of turf and landscaping at the District's 36 sites. On average, the Maintenance & Operations Department completes 15,000 work orders each year.
Maintenance is home to Carpenters, Custodians, Electricians, a Fire Extinguisher Technician, General Maintenance Workers, HVAC technicians, Locksmiths, Painters, Plumbers, a Swimming Pool Technician and a Tool Crib Attendant/Parts Driver.
The Operations group is home to Grounds Workers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Mower Operators, Irrigation Technicians and a Pest Control Applicator Technician.
The Office Staff consists of a Director, a Maintenance Manager, a Construction Coordinator, 3 supervisors, an Administrative Secretary, an Accountant I, a Work Order Technician and an Energy/Resource Conservation Technician.
