Welcome to the Maintenance, Operations & Construction Department!

The mission of the Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department is twofold:
     1st - It supports the educational process by ensuring a safe and healthy teaching and learning environment for all Chino Valley Unified School District students and staff.
     2nd - It delivers an effective approach to asset management of all District facilities provided by the taxpayers in the Chino Valley Unified School district and /or the State of California for the purpose of sustaining them at the highest level for as long as possible.

Under the direction of Michael Chapko, the Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department repairs and maintains the School District's sites.  There are 18 elementary schools, 3 fundamental schools, 5 junior high schools, 4 comprehensive high schools, a continuation high school, the Chino Valley Adult School, the Alternative Education Center, the Professional Development/Media Center, and the District Offices/Administrative Service Center. The combined size of all of the District's permanent and portable buildings is approximately 3 million square feet.

The Department is responsible for routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and contributes to the review of the design phase and oversight of the construction phase of contracted public works projects throughout the District. Department staff is also in charge of maintaining the approximately 300+ acres of turf and landscape found at the District's 36 sites, along with the District’s 4 athletic stadiums. On average, the Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department completes 15,000 work orders each year.

Maintenance trades include the following; Carpenters, Electricians, a Fire Extinguisher Technician, General Maintenance Workers, HVAC Technicians, Locksmiths, Painters, Plumbers, a Swimming Pool Technician, Irrigation Technicians, a Metal Worker and an Equipment/Material Facilitator.

The Operations staff includes District Service Center Custodians, Grounds Workers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Mower Operators, and a Pest Control Applicator Technician.

The Maintenance, Operations and Construction Department Office Staff consists of the Director, a Construction Coordinator, two Supervisors, an Administrative Secretary, an Accountant I, and an Energy/Resource Conservation Technician.
